Help Build a Base Camp for Youth Programs and Visitor Services
Youth camps provide a memorable lifetime experience for organization members and children whose families may not be able to provide such a valuable educational opportunity for them. Camps are planned in locations with excellent resources for learning and adventure.
From previous experience offering youth camps in Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico, organizers know the advantages of offering camps in partnership with parks, museums and other educational resources, while utilizing a base camp in a location with many options for students to maintain their interest. The base camp is the site for meals and lodging, while many of the field trip activities begin at park trailheads and historic sites.
Volunteers may form committees to host small fundraisers which will help establish a central base camp location and provide scholarship assistance to deserving students.
