The start dates of member benefits will depend on the regions (determined by zip codes) and the frequency of Charter Member, Inaugural Member and General Member signups and surveys. Information will be provided through the quarterly newsletter.

Quarterly Newsletter
Members will receive a quarterly newsletter with information about organization progress on its key goals, interesting and informative features related to the organization's projects and its mission, and our travel and social events calendar.
Travel
Exciting travel opportunities will be open to members. Some of these will tie into the thematic projects described on the PROGRAMS page, while others will be unique hiking adventures, and active cultural and educational experiences. LEARN MORE
Workshops and Conferences
Members will be able to attend workshops (some provided free to members and others at nominal costs), while non-members will be charged a membership fee and effectively become a member of Mile Zero Trail Association. The organization plans to hold an annual or biennial conference, similar to the one offered by the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. There may be additional regional conferences as needed. The costs will be discounted for members.
Social Activities
Members will be able to join the group for social events in various cities, including "Day Out in Dallas", "Around H-Town", "ˇSí, San Antonio!" and other fun activities in various cities as membership grows.
Publications and Merchandise
Members will receive offers for publications and merchandise at discount prices or at-cost when possible.
Progress Reports
We know many people feel overwhelmed with all that is going on in the world. While our goal is to limit the amount of information the organization provides through the Quarterly Newsletter in order to keep interaction and involvement at a pleasant level, there will be occasions when we have exciting news to share or other timely information. Social media posts may be more frequent for those who enjoy the faster pace of organization news, events and interesting information.
Travel and Culture Advice
Interesting and useful information about travel and cultural activities, as well as other educational and volunteer opportunities, will be provided through the website and newsletter, and through the organization's Facebook group page and other social media. LEARN MORE
Volunteer Opportunities
Members may volunteer in numerous capacities, and serve as committee chairs, chapter leaders and board members. Volunteers will also be invited to help in the formation of a conservancy as trail management and maintenance are needed in the future.
Youth Camp Adventures
Summer camps will be planned and coordinated for members Who have clildren in the appropriate age ranges. Students will be accompanied by parents. Carpools and other transportation will be coordinated. Camps will take place in locations that utilize excellent parks and educational resources. LEARN MORE
Camp Student Sponsor Opportunities
Members will have opportunities to sponsor or mentor students who attend the organization's planned youth camps, which will introduce students to the National Parks and provide them with an advanced educational experience to inspire their academic interests amd lifelong learning. LEARN MORE
